The tiny island in Greece with the oldest life expectancy in the world

The island of Ikaria in Greece is renowned for the health and longevity of its inhabitants. The population consumes fresh fish, shellfish, octopus and fresh vegetables, local olive oil and local wine. The fish, shellfish, octopus and vegetables in particular, contain high levels of magnesium. It is considered also that drinking water supplies on the island contain high levels of soluble, bioavailable magnesium (more than 30 milligrams per litre).
